During my senior year, my professor for the course Interaction Design tasked us with finding a problem on campus that we can raise awareness for and attempt to remedy through the principles we learned throughout the semester.

My group members (Kathleen Tynan and Chole Choi) and I decided to focus on the growing problem with plastic waste on our campus- specifically straws. We found a very active movement to #stopsucking and decided to bring the movement onto our campus by creating the social media campaign with the catchphrase #stopsuckingGT.

It entailed an interactive twitter bot, an infographic Instagram, a website full of information about our campaign, and awareness stickers to be on the straw containers around campus.

We programmed an interactive twitter account that would respond to followers and tweet important and interesting facts throughout the week. You can find some examples of our Bot interacting with our followers.
